All the technology that we have now has definitely made the world a smaller place. But at the same time we have forgotten how to live in that very moment and forgotten how to spend quality time with someone.
Yes, I do blame the so called ‘smart phones’ for losing touch with our inner senses. All we are in touch with nowadays are our ‘touch phones’.
Well, it has been ages since I spent time with someone who would give me their complete attention. There always is someone who has some important message for them on watsapp or everyone on facebook has to know where and with whom they have been having dinner tonight and ofcourse they cannot eat without letting their friends know what gorgeous food they are about to dig in. While all this is going on where do we have the time to have a good conversation. Wasn’t that the reason why you met!
Gone are those days when families would have a hearty discussion over dinner and talk about things that would release your day’s stress. Now its all about catching up with people away from you because you had such a busy day at work and could not catch up on the updates on all the social media.
Alas phones have reduced the literal distances between people but more than that, it has distanced people emotionally. The communication is now so easy that we really don’t value it any longer.
I don’t deny that I too have been a part of this bandwagon. But better late than never, I have come to realize what it means to actually be with someone in that very moment. That moment will never come back once you lose it. I have understood to value time and the people who give you their time.
Its upto us to live in the very present, savour each moment and to create memories — not on facebook /instagram/snapchat etc, but in your heart and mind.
Smart phones, social media are not an evil. Infact they are what helps you connect to people you would have otherwise lost touch with. But we have to learn to draw a line, learn our priorities and most important start living in the real world with real people and respect and value real relationships. Virtual world is not the real world!
Be Real..live real!
It’s not love that we crave for.
It is the belongingness and a sense of attachment that we want from someone we love.
Love isnt something that doesn’t let you sleep.
It’s what brings you sound sleep.
Love if not pure isn’t love
Love doesn’t blind you.
Love is what let’s you see the bright side of the world
Love doesn’t bind you
Love is what brings hope
Love doesn’t nest you
It is what gives you wings
Love is a feeling
Let it come to you
And let it be you who sprinkles it on others.
You should let life sometimes throw stones at you so that you can pick them up and build a wall…
I wish I could describe what it is to feel the way I feel right now
It is something that no amount of money can buy
It is something that no words could ever describe
It aches me that I can’t explain what it feels like!
But I am sure you have felt it too but never cared to think twice
It is freedom that makes me realise how lucky I am
I believe I can fly!
Not everyone is privileged to feel what I feel
And so the ecstatic feeling of being alive!
Thank your stars for where you are..
If you feel the same as I do
Leave a prayer for those who aren’t
And make sure you enjoy what others can’t !
Have you ever wondered what is it that keeps you going everyday? You will agree that most of us have a peculiar mundane routine everyday, ofcourse except for the weekend (again which may be the same for some). So we do the same things every day, see the same people and feel the same almost every single day! Even writing the word ‘same’ so many times almost bored me. So its definitely pretty boring to live a life like that.
But this dismal reality doesn’t really bother us does it? I am guessing most of you, once you started reading this post would have been forced to think how mundane your lives are. But then to answer the question of whether it comes to your notice pretty often? I am sure not.
I am not sure whether we have been taught this or is it just the human nature that makes us see beyond the day to day life, in other words to look forward to the things that will bring a change from the regular routine or some things that just bring us enough joy to not bother about the regular routine life.
These things to look forward to is different for everyone. For some everyday getting home to see their partner, their kids could be something to look forward to. For a lot many, vacations are a blessing. For a few just doing things they are passionate about is a moment of joy. For the jobless, getting a job is their moment of achievement. For some plans of partying over the weekend pumps them up during the week. For a mom away from her kids, just seeing them on skype would reenergize her after a long tiring day. There could be millions of such examples.
The crux is there is always something in life that will compel us to look beyond the ordinary and keep going on and moving forward.
We have always read that we should neither live in the past nor in the future and it is the present that we should focus on. It is true, there is no doubt. But if there is nothing to look forward to, nothing that future holds that excites us, then the present too shall become dull. Its the wait for those moments that keeps us going every moment.
Living every moment of life to the fullest is something we should strive to do but some moments are meant to be different so that we know, what it feels like when our heart skips a beat or when it starts pumping fast, when we have an adrenaline rush or when we are are overloaded with conflicting emotions.
Life is simple and at the same time complicated! . But all in all, its wonderful!
